During my doctoral research, I interviewed many composers of church music. This week, I'm delighted to feature music by several of the people I interviewed. If you'd like to read more about my research, click here

About Faye Lopez

Faye Lopez is a professor of music at Bob Jones University (Greenville, SC). She performed on BJU's Show My People television show, worked at The Wilds Camp and Conference Center (and was part of founding their music publishing department), and now, in addition to teaching the next generation of church musicians, is a prolific composer.

Faye Lopez's Music

Faye's piano hymn arrangements are some of her most popular, and for good reason! Check out two of her recent intermediate level piano collections—All Creations Sings and Peace on Earth (a Christmas collection). She also has piano music available through Alfred

For her choral music, listen to Mercy Flows and much more here.

Her writing is consistently lovely and well-crafted. Pianists, the parts fit well in the hand (whether easy or advanced). Choir directors and vocalists, her part-writing is rewarding to sing.

I know a number of Music and the Church readers love a good playlist—check out Faye's YouTube channel. It has lots of beautiful recordings, including many of her solo piano music.

Thanks for sharing your music with us, Faye!
